CHATEAU FONPLEGADE 2009 : 94/100 BY ANDREAS LARSSON Very inky and bright colour, perfumed with hints of violet, dark cherry, blackberry, cassis and spices, the palate is very dense and concentrated with layers of dark fruit, very powdery tannins that add freshness and length, really nice grip and an extremely long finish, still young and unresolved but with a huge potential. 94/100. ____________________________________________________________________________________ |

JUNE 2012 JJ BUCKLEY / NEIL MECHANIC
CHATEAU L’ENCLOS 2011: SCORE 92-94 points "L’Enclos is made up of 38 plots of vines planted on 3 terraces of the blue clay soil unique to the Pomerol plateau. Le Pin and Petrus are neighbors. Animal, cassis, and blackberry aromas on the nose transition to a focused mid palate with flavors of kirsch, licorice, and tapenade. The natural fruit tannins start off firm and angular then become expansive on the finish, with a clay note emerging after the fruit subsides. Mid-palate could be more substantial and should develop out with a couple of years of bottle matura-tion. A solid effort that complements the 2010 release. An estate to watch, especially with the Adams Family (owners of Fonple-gade in St. Emilion), re-investing in the winery and vineyard. Enjoy 2018-2030." _____________________________________________________________________________________ |

APRIL 2012: ROBERT PARKER / THE WINE ADVOCATE
CHATEAU FONPLEGADE 2011 – SCORE 92-94/100 "Since this estate was acquired by the Adams family of America, who hired consulting oenologist Michel Rolland, the quality has soared. The 2011 Fonplegade is another tour de force. It boasts an inky/blue/purple color in addition to copious notes of charcoal, camphor, blackberries, blueberries and spring flowers. Opulent, fleshy, deep and impressively built, it will be drinkable in 3-4 years or can be cellared for two decades or more. Kudos to Fonplegade!"

DECEMBER 2011 : NEAL MARTIN/WINE ADVOCATE (ROBERT PARKER) Chateau l'Enclos 2009: 90 / 100 Tasted at the Syndicat de Pomerol. This has a fine pure bouquet with wild strawberry, raspberry and touches of cedar and truffle in the background. Nice precision. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly coarse, chalky tannins, but good weight towards the tannic, slightly brutish finish. This will need 4-5 years to mellow. Tasted November 2011.
